My family doesn’t have a belief in ghost. I believe in them, just simply because there’s so much proof out there that they exist. I think ghost are very fascinating, and have some sort of purpose; why else would they exist? I’m not sure about where you could find them, but I know there are many places, like abandoned houses, and even occupied houses. The most common place for a ghost, most people would think..is a grave yard.I’ve never seen a ghost, but I would like to..maybe.

There has been superstitions about ghost and their existence for many centuries. For example: Horseshoe must be put over the door to ward off evil spirits, An astrological almanac on the table, a bowl of cream set out for fairies nightly, stockpile of charms to ward off ghosts and witches, no whistling after dark. There were many beliefs that guided day-to-day behavior and activities of people: if you fell from your horse, you would carefully note the day and hour of the fall as an unlucky time to ride.

There were many explanations of a
ghostly visitation during Shakespeare’s time. A ghost could be . . .
*a hallucination brought about by stress, poor diet, or exhaustion.
*a specter seen as a portent or omen
*a spirit of a dead person returned to perform some deed left undone in life
*a spirit of a dead person returned from the grave or from purgatory by divine permission
*an angel disguised as a dead person, or a devil disguised as a dead person to tempt a living relative into eternal damnation
(the Protestant position taught to Hamlet and Horatio at Wittenberg)

The Lyre Bird is a crazzzzzzzy bird! I never would have thought that a “bird” could make so many noises that resemble not only birds, but things like a firetruck? It even sounds like a monkey in a way. It seems that it goes through so much for just the attraction of a female bird. I have never heard of the bird, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.
“A Lyrebird is either of two species of ground-dwelling Australian birds, most notable for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their environment. Lyrebirds have unique plumes of neutral coloured tailfeathers.” -Wikipedia.
They have very pretty tails, almost like a peacock. They just certainly don’t sound like one, ha.  They’re not commonly found in the natural habitat. So I suppose your lucky to find one…or for your mind’s sake, are you?

society today is always focused on body image and the latest trends. models can only be sizes 0-5, if your over 150 lbs, then your a fatty. so many people that watch tv and read magazines, wish they were like those people. those people in the media are not real. they are people who are obsessed with trying to make others feel bad. maybe they are even as bad off as the others. there could be someone in the media that they may envy and want to look like. the media knows that people will try and be like what is out there, and they’ll do what it takes to get there. basically, it’s sickning.

If I had the option to join a character from the Prologue of The Canterbury Tales on a Pilgrimage, it would have to be the Nun. She portrays a roll of someone who is good and innocent, but in reality she’s full of secrets and has money. Every girl needs a friend with money. I’m sure her dog would be lovely too. With the tender heart that she has, maybe she would buy me new shoes :) Going on a pilgrimage with a nun, would make people think that you wouldn’t be doing anything wrong or sinful. That’s where you fool them, but whatever happens on a pilgrimage, stays on a pilgrimage.  Out of all the other characters, the Squire would be one I would not be able to bare. Someone like him needs to be tought a lesson on how to properly treat a lady. Not as if they’re just a peice of meat that needs beating, but as someone who needs love and caring for. If I could, I would kick him :)

I have actually never really used a blog before. I’ve never had a use for blogging before, or an interest. Now that there is a reason to blog and it’s an assignment, I think I may like it. Most people, like my sister for one, post all kinds of weird and emotional blogs for her guy of the week, that she just feels the need to exploit her feelings about over myspace. That is why I have never messed with it, she just ruined it for me, haha.  I do indeed look forward to blogging for this class. Now that there is actually something to blog about, this could be interesing. plus, it beats written work in class :/

Woo Hoo, I’m a blogger :D
